Today we join with Idaho and the rest of the nation in celebrating Juneteenth, which was the day that slaves in Texas were finally apprised of the Emancipation Proclamation (which had been signed 2 years previously). In this time of unrest and competing voices, we encourage all citizens of every race and nationality to educate themselves regarding this and other important events in the history of Civil Rights.
